So much to update you on

Hopefully I don't miss anything tonight as I have so much I want to say to y'all! :) firstly I apologize for how poorly written this will be, I'm trying to hurry as the wifi has been out all day and I want to get this sent off before it goes out again. (It may not, but in not betting on it!)

Ok!! So a couple pictures for you! These are of the house in staying at and down the street! :) and of course the cute neighbors kittens! :)

Ok so Spanish still sucks. Seriously I'm done pretending like I'm going to learn it! But! I'll keep going and doing my best!
However something I have learned is that I'm a privileged American! Seriously, I'm by no means wealthy or anything, but I miss my fast wifi, laundry machines... The list goes on. We are all spoiled though! Just a keep that in mind!
On another note, the forecast constantly says rainy with at least a 30% chance....  Always!!!!! And I've realized it's because they can't ever tell if it will rain or not... It just downpours whenever it wants. So they put it up and when it happens they aren't wrong. Haha
Alright not going to lie... I had so much to update on but then I sat down to write and of course have forgotten everything. So I'll do my best to just keep writing!
So I am the third volunteer to be at the hospital, which I start on Monday! :) yay! I am the only volunteer who commutes to la ceiba everyday. The others stay in el Porvenir and teach. That's kind of hard actually but I like hanging out at night when we are all together. Music is literally always playing and I love the variety that everyone has!! Like from Spanish to Italian to American! And everything I between of all types! It's so awesome!! I don't think I have ever not liked a song that's played!
On Sunday and Monday I wasn't feeling good. Which I expected to happen. And I'm sure it won't be the only time. So i.e. as able to sit in bed and watch lots of Netflix which was really nice! When it loads..... (I'm not complaining, I love it here!)
So my Spanish classes are done at the house of the coordinator for a different volunteer program, they work at a different clinic and hospital in town and I had the awesome opportunity to go help out today at the clinic! I took blood pressure for a bit then was going to help clean wounds and infections. Maybe it was the heat... Maybe it was the blood (even though I've seen more) however I definitely passed out! Oops! That's embarrassing! Everything is all good! I knew I was going to so I sat down and told them so they would catch me. So no harm. But definitely not what I was planning on. Luckily I get to go back tomorrow! :) they want to teach me injections and suturing! I'm really excited! :)
This weekend we are going to cayos cuchinos! They are a group of island just off the coast to the east of la ceiba! We will be hanging on a beach and snorkeling! Lots of relaxing and vacationing basically! It's going to be so awesome! I'll take lots of pics and send them next week! :)
Our neighbors have chickens and a rooster... And the fricken rooster is broken. So first off, we have all the windows open all the time. And this rooster will literally always be cockadoodling.... Middle of the night... At my window.  It doesn't help that there are dogs everywhere!!!! Literally! And they bark all night long! Haha it's all part of the adventure here.
Alright well I'm going to stop there for now. I'm sure there is more but as I think of it I'll do my best to keep you all posted. Sorry about how scatter brained and poorly written it is!
Love you all! Thank you so much for everything!!

Anthony

First Update From Honduras

I don't have a good title for this update of hondurasEMT... So you get what you get.

First off let's talk about flying. I went from SLC to St. Paul Minnesota...  Don't ask my why I went there first I don't know! There I had an 8 hour layover... Yay for sleeping in airports! I then flew to Atlanta where I had just enough time to hop on my flight to Honduras. I arrived in Honduras with 3.5 hours to wait for my flight to La Ceiba! If you've ever flown Delta... You know they have a little thing that shows you the percent of how on time the flights are... From Atlanta to San Pedro Sula.... N/A Honduras doesn't work that way. So my 3.5 hours turned to 4 really fast. Then 4.5. Then 5. Ha ha any guess if it keeps going from there? With my battery on my phone being at 12% we got on the plane to La Ceiba. Which! Turned out to be worth the wait as it was the best flight of them all. Totaling all of maybe 20 minutes which felt like 5 we never got to cursing altitude and flew in the clouds like we were in heaven.

These photos don't even do justice to the flight or that you could actually see!
So for the nerds.... Who knows what plant all those ones are? Or mostly are?
Well if you guessed pineapple you are correct! Honduras provides Dole with their pineapples. (New appreciation for Honduras for Dole in Disney!)

So Sunday evening we get to our new home... (We being Carly, another volunteer... Don't worry lady's back home, we aren't allowed to date each other)  after getting all my stuff in my room and pacing forever just taking it all in, I sit on my bed. Cue the culture shock. It hit me square across the face like Babe Ruth hitting a home run.  Holy cow just doesn't cut it. Nor does it fit for this part of the world.
I couldn't believe what I had done, and what I was doing. Next came the homesickness. Not even going there though. Let's just say it's a good thing there weren't any more flights back out of the country that day. I'd have been on one.
I only slept well that night because of how tired I was.

The next morning was better. But then again it had to be. I started my day at 6:30 in the morning. Which for some of you who don't know. Is still 6:30 Utah time. Which would be great.... Considering the sun comes up before that. And he's to bed before 7.
So what had I been doing the last two days. Besides trying to stay sane, I'm doing Spanish! Before I begin, let me say I love Spanish and I want to know it soo bad....... Begin

I HATE SPANISH! Es muy difĂcil! There is no way I'm ever going to know it.
So... Why I am not in the hospital then? Well because I need to know more Spanish to actually be useful there. I haven't felt like more of a bump on a log. But then again I'm saying this as I reminisce over how difficult today was, and the fact that I still have homework... Es cierto, tarea, en Honduras! ¿Quien llame para este?!! And if you're impressed with that and unsure why I'm complaining, I looked half that up. And ask someone, it's probably wrong.
But in all seriousness, I'm really feeling useless with Spanish. I know everyone does but it's even more discouraging hearing it everywhere and not even understanding a little bit.
It's just a good thing Netflix works here too! :) teehee!
So we will see what the rest of this week has to offer because lesbihonest, I'm taking things a minute at a time right now. And I'll let y'all know.

Till then, thank you so much for the love and support!!! I have received so much since getting here as its not been the easiest thing ever. If you ever want to get a hold of me email me at tonyloaf@yahoo.com.

Buenas noche!
Anthony!

Less than one week to go!

I am so excited for this adventure to begin! I will be leaving in less than a week. I am still collecting medical supplies to donate to the clinics/hospitals where I will be serving. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A GoFundMe account has been set up if you feel you could donate.
